Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) Program for local governments

January 2020
Enumeration of remote Alaskan communities takes place.

Complete Count Committees begin local Census organizing work
March 2020
Door-to-door enumeration and Enumeration at Transitory Locations begins. Census postcards are sent to most homes.
April 2018
Census questions delivered to Congress
April 1, 2020
2020 Census Day
July 2019
Communications and advertising campaign begins
April 2020
Non-response Follow-up begins for households that did not submit a Census form
Fall 2019
Recruitment begins for Census enumerators. Census enumerators will follow up with non-responders.
May–July 2020
Census workers visit addresses from the Census Master Address File that did not complete a Census questionnaire and collect information at the door.
August 2019
In-field Address Canvassing and Group Quarters operation begins
December 31, 2020
The Census director delivers apportionment counts to the president.
  March 2021
The Census Bureau completes delivery of redistricting counts to the states.
