SECURE. EASY. ESSENTIAL.
Serving Georgians – The Georgia Complete Count Committee is working to provide basic information to our Georgia residents about the Census, the importance of filling it out and mailing it back, and the security of the information.
When you complete the Census, your information is secure. The U.S. Census may not share this information with any individual, agency or organization for over 70 years! Filling out the Census is easy – it’s only ten short questions, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. And, filling out the Census is essential to Georgia and local communities. Not only is it required by law, but the Census determines how billions of dollars are distributed for important needs like healthcare, schools, roads and other public needs. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that Georgia will receive about $1700 per person counted, for each year for ten years as a result of our Census count – that’s $1.66 Billion! In addition, the Census determines how many Congressional Representatives that Georgia will have for the next decade.
Where am I counted? You may have questions about where you are counted if you are a college student, live in assisted living quarters, are military personnel, etc. Please see these frequently asked questions for answers from the Census Bureau.
